My name is Emma Hoyle and I am the Director of my studio, Emma Hoyle Interiors.

A brief background, I studied a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts degree specialising in Interior Design at Unitec. It was during this time, I explored my interest in the act of dwelling. These explorations looked at the relationship between dwelling, domesticity and the emotional connection between interiors and the body. I was interested in these tactile experiences of domestic space and the impact our surroundings have on our emotional response to a place.

Following my studies, I worked for a boutique interior design firm for five years where I undertook a rigorous extension to my learning of high-end residential and retirement interiors.

It was during this time that I gained an understanding of all the facets of an interior business, which has been pivotal in the formation of my own practice. In 2018, I became a mum to my daughter, Lily, which inspired my ambition to keep developing and informed a natural progression to begin Emma Hoyle Interiors in 2020.

Emma Hoyle Interiors is a luxury residential design studio that explores the inner workings of a home by creating a symbiosis between my client, the architecture and their way of life.

As these conversations evolve between my clients, I translate these impressions into built form. I seek to unfold their ideals to create spaces for living, connection, growth and rest.
